Welcome to Glenhaven Equine Connect
Glenhaven Equine Connect provides Equine Assisted Counselling and Learning services to the Gympie region. The programs are facilitated by our skilled and experienced counsellor and equine specialist, providing support, through a trauma-informed approach, for people experiencing emotional and behavioural challenges to achieve their treatment goals.
At Glenhaven Equine Connect we believe each client is the expert of their own life, determining what is best for themselves and developing the best strategies for achieving their personal goals. Equine Assisted Counselling and Learning is experiential based, giving clients the opportunity to connect with horses and the natural environment around them, enabling them to receive immediate feedback for learning and processing information. The programs are non-riding, meaning they are all on the ground and promote the development of human skills, rather than horse skills.
Facilitators are trained in the Eagala (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning) model, which is a team/solution-focused model and “Arenas for Change” (ARCH) Storytelling framework/Narrative therapy.
Glenhaven Equine Connect offers a safe and peaceful space for clients to explore their unique life experiences within a natural setting with horses.
